Never fear, I'm stil here! More to come very soon!

Hi peoples,

Sorry (again) for the lack of content over the last couple of months. Real life got in the way of the hobby and when I did find time to hobby I became locked in a cycle of converting everything thus doing very little painting  :O(  The good news is that I'm attending the Throne of Skulls at Warhammer World in January 2013 which has shocked me into painting my Serpent Guard in preparation, yay!   To my horror though picking up the paint brush again has not been as productive as it once was. It seems it's not as simple as riding a bike and I'm having to teach myself basic composition again. Damn!

I now have a painting table FULL of miniatures which need painting and I only have a couple of weeks to finish as well as cramming in Xmas and all the family get together, hmmmm!

So the good news is expect to see allot more content on my blog, my Facebook page and my YouTube channel as I busily paint away.

The following is a glimpse of one of the miniature that I'm currently painting, you may recognise him?

Blood for the blood god!

H people,

I'm checking in once again. For those of you that do not follow my Facebook page here is a collection of some of the miniatures I have been working on lately:

A collection of the next six terminators to accompany my exising unit.

The champion.

Dual lightning claws.

That all important combi melta and power fist.

The deadly reaper autocannon & power axe combo.

Just because one is never enough!

And the standard bearer of course.

For the first time ever I'm taking the plunge and working on a Khorne Lord on Juggernaut. Next comes the Daemon Weapon  :O)

Here I am playing with where best to afix weapons to. The Grey Knight flamer shown here will eventually be converted into the 'Burning Brand of Skalathrax'. Flame on baby!

Next I work on the weapon sculpting, bulking of the Juggernaut armour, smoothing of the detail to create that all important flat surface for free hand, head ornament for the mount and piping around the Khorne Lords head.

Serpent Guard Update

Hi peoples,

It's been a while since my last update but I'm finally back. Today I have for you some snap shots of how I'm expanding my Serpent Guard now the shiny new 6th edition codex has been released.

First up here are some shots of my Helldrake conversion and base:

I love this miniature. The kit itself is amazing but the standard pose leaves a bit to be desired. A cut here and there plus a few parts borrowed from the Maulerfiend kit and I'm proud to add this to my Serpent Guard army.

Here is a close up of the Helldrake base.

I began creating this conversion for a second Daemon Prince for my Serpent Guard army before the new codex was released. With the loss of eternal warrior and the possibility of any champion becoming one when rolling on the boon table I decided to move onto more shiny toyz.

Here is a shot from the back. I have utilised components from the plastic Daemon Prince kit, a pair of metal Hive Tyrant legs and the arms of the metal Keeper of Secrets.

This is a shot of the base I designed and build for my first Forgefiend conversion.

Here I have places the Hades Autocannons on the top of the carapace again utilising components from the Maulerfiend box set. By mistake I glued the ectoplasma head upside down but I think it gives a little more character.

Here is the Forgefiend positioned upon his custom base.

After reading the new codex I decided I had to create a Kharn the Betrayer conversion. The old model is amazing, one of the best to date you could argue but it just looks silly these days standing next to the current range.

Here is a side view, I wanted Gorechild to be really impressive.

And a shot from the rear.

Here is a shot of the champion for my terminator squad.

The first reaper autocannon.

The second reaper autocannon.

The standard bearer.

And a lightning clawed chap just because I could.

All together they will join four of my existing terminator conversions and Abaddon. In total there is easily over 1000 points in this unit but boy what a deathstar unit it is.

Another one of the new units to join my army is the Warpsmith. I purchased this miniature purely for reference initially as I intend to eventually convert my own version. It is B.E.A.utiful!!!!  This is not the finecast of old, or more suitably 'Failcast'. There were little to no bubbles or defects that I could see, the axe is bent but a little bit of heat application will tidy that up nicely.

All in all I've been really impressed with all the new Choas Space Marine releases. I would of like to of seen new sculpts for Abaddon etc. but I plan on creating conversion of each of the characters anyway so meh.

I've spend far too long converting lately and need to get back to painting ASAP. I have a 6000 point doubles match coming up at the end of November at Warhammer World against the forces of the '4th Praetorian Mechanized' and hope to have some of these latest additions finished in time.

Tau inspiration found

It looks like I've found the inspiration for my new Tau army. I saw this piece of black library artwork and I instantly knew this is how I want my Tau to feel. As usual the army will be corroded and battle scarred. The bases will have a swamp world theme so lots of moss and water.

I can't wait!!!

Tau Hammerhead conversion update - 23/08/2012

Hi guys,

I did a little more work on the Tau Hammerhead last night. The basic shape is coming together nicely. I ran out of syrene sheet though so I won't be laying the foundations for the hull anytime soon.

Let me know what you think?

Yup, another project for me. It's Tau time!

Hi guys,

With the Grey Knights sold I've began to look at which miniatures I have in my bitz box to determine which army I will work on next.  To my surprise and delight it looks like Tau will be my next big project.

I say surprise as I did not fully appreciate how much Tau I actually own. In my collection I have three hammerhead / devilfish's, three piranhas, twelve Vespid and a heap of left over Forgeworld battlesuit bitz. This is a good start for a project indeed, all are really heavily coated with paint so they have been soaked thoroughly in Fairy power spray over night and given a vigorous brushing with an old toothebrush.

I love, LOVE the Tau miniature range. All those flat surfaces are begging for some freehand and what do I have to say about the Forgeworld battlesuits except they are probably my favorite miniatures of all time to date. This Tau army project is going to hit me hard in the wallet I can forsee already  :O)

So to the first stage of my Tau army I'm taking a look at the humble Hammerhead tank.

After reading an online blog the other day I spotted this little gem of fan art. I love how the hammerhead tank is illustrated here. The shortened hull and smooth features are amazing and I want to use this as a basis for my first conversion. Also note the amazing effect used to illustrate the stealth team cloak field. I sense an idea forming for this too  :O)

Here is a post stripping hammerhead tank

I assemble my tools to begin the butchering process MWAH HA HA HA HA!

I eye up my prey!

SCADOOOSH!!!!  A mighty cut is made.

Oh the horror.....is no feature safe?  :O)

I'll pick this up again tonight.

Baneblade update

Hi guys,

So the Grey Knights all sold! Yay!  All but one of the packages have been dispatched and are on their way to their new homes. I hope the new owners will enjoy having them in their collections as I did painting them  :O)

As a light project between painting armies I decided to try and finish off the Baneblade that I half painted for the 'Siege of Magnus Hive' game a few weeks ago.  Here are some snaps that I took this morning before leaving for work:

Tonight I'll apply a little more weathering, some OSL then I'm done.  I placed an order for a shiny new 12" rotary table the other night so expect to see a spinie spin spin video on my YouTube channel in the next week followed by an eBay auction soon after  :O)

Warmarch is over with some success.

Hi Guys,

So Warmarch is over, I had a fantastic weekend, I played some great games and met some cool people.

I managed to win three painting awards, one for my Skypad, one for my Daemon Prince and one for my Greater Brass Scorpion.

Here are shots of two of the winning miniatures:

Here is my controversial Skypad which I placed my Predator tanks upon to give them a 4 up invulnerable save, which worked amazingly!   I intend on converting this soon to be more Chaos....ey and to have a ramp to stop all the wingers complaining hee hee

And of course here is my Greater Brass Scorpion and the base it was mounted upon.
